On behalf of the Scientific Committee and the Quality Improvement and Outcomes Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics, District VIII Section on Neonatal Perinatal Medicine, we are pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts to be presented during 43rd Annual Conference of the AAP District VIII Section on Neonatal Perinatal Medicine that will take place from June 27 to 30, 2019 in Anchorage, Alaska.
The conference will feature original research and quality improvement projects relevant to neonatal and perinatal medicine. Submissions by fellows, junior faculty, respiratory therapist and nurse practitioners/physician assistants are particularly encouraged.
The abstracts will be accepted either as a poster or a platform presentation. There will be a dedicated poster session plus viewing throughout the conference. The platform presentations will last 10 minutes with 5 minutes for questions and they will be interspersed throughout the conference sessions.
Free registration to the 44th Annual Conference in 2020 will be awarded to the best presentation in Basic science, Clinical research and Quality improvement.
Neonatal-perinatal fellows may apply for travel awards to help offset conference and travel costs. To apply, fellows must attest to their trainee status on their abstract submission form. Details regarding travel awards can be found on the “2019 D8 Travel Award Guidelines” document. Awardees are expected to arrive by June 27th, 2019 in order to participate in the Fellows’ Workshop that day and stay for the entire duration of the meeting.
The abstract submission form is attached; the submission deadline is Feb 15th, 2019. Details of the conference can be found at www.district8perinatal.org. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance via email by March 5th, 2019.
Encouragement of trainees to present their research and/or quality improvement efforts is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and continued support of the AAP District VIII Section on Neonatal Perinatal Medicine.
